My inspiration for the talk was all the advice out there saying you really have to X, Y, or Z with AI coding. But what’s actually best depends on your context. To prepare for the talk, I interviewed several people working with AI in different kinds of organizations – from small startups to large legacy codebases – to get their perspectives.

The talk is 30 minutes, but if you only have 10 minutes, watching from 8:25 -18:45 is where the most value is. That part of the talk was the inspiration for my iterative planning with AI post. The talk before and after that is mostly at an introductory level, with various insights along the way.

It’s amazing how quickly things move. The conference was 6 weeks ago and there are already things in the talk I would change. Nothing major though – primarily tooling and AI skill recommendations, which I cover in my other posts in this series.

I lost a couple minutes to technical difficulties with the audio (you’ll see a cut in the middle of the video because of it). They kept us on a strict schedule, so because of that I ended up having to race through the last few slides. But otherwise, I thought it went well and the conference overall was great!
